Instructional models (replicas)

To improve the learning process, it is most productive to use not only auditory perception, but also visual and tactile perception. When information is presented exclusively by ear, its assimilation is significantly slowed down, the student’s interest and attention are reduced, the time spent on learning increases. Therefore, it is important not only to tell, but also to show, consider, touch, move, analyze – this is how you can most briefly describe the capabilities and purpose of the educational layout.

Education is an integral part of any field of human activity, therefore, training models are used almost everywhere – architecture, construction, mechanical engineering, industry, the military, transport, medicine, law enforcement agencies. It is worth noting that for each area, the training models will differ in appearance and functionality – the model can have the form of a stand, to demonstrate the principle of operation of any equipment, or it can look like a realistic object in section and with explication. The most effective layouts with the function of a simulator, with which the student interacts directly, having the opportunity to assemble and disassemble the object, move some elements, or start the movement of the mechanism by pressing a button.

When making educational layouts, as a rule, many elements are simplified, there is no backlight. The main goal is external simplicity and clarity of understanding. The main material for manufacturing is polystyrene; for complex shapes, PVC or 3D printing is used. Parts are usually painted and assembled by hand by our mock-ups. Because for each object we use an individual approach, there is a possibility of using almost any material – wood, metal, textured paint, PET, sticker, etc.

A striking example of a training model is our model of a gold mining enterprise for a research institute in the city of Vladikavkaz. The layout shows the structures involved in the gold mining process, their relationship with each other, the name of each in the form of an explication, as well as two cuts in the surface for viewing underground equipment. Each element is simplified and has its own color for a comfortable perception. Thus, this volumetric scheme helps both to remember the main material and to consolidate the existing new information. Before creating a layout, our employees carefully study the information received from the customer, so that the result of the work done is the most informational and understandable educational 3D image.
